Hope is #1 again!

The 2009 California Fitness Result were recently released and Hope 5th grade students had the highest percentage of all Carlsbad elementary students in five of the six healthy fitness zones (Aerobic Capacity, Body Composition, Trunk Extensor Strength, Upper Body Strength, and Flexibility). 90% of our students met at least 5 out of 6 fitness criteria - highest out of all elementary schools.  Way to go Hope Hawks!  Let's keep a great thing going!  Be strong  •  be healthy.

Science Day –

 

Science Day is rapidly approaching.  We need 90 2-liter plastic bottles for our projects.  Please turn them in to our office!

We are in need of volunteer presenters for the 4th and 5th grade. If you have a background in engineering, chemistry, medicine or any other science discipline and are interested in presenting a workshop please contact Becky Walker at 760-434-1220 or becky@straitlinelogistics.com.

Tuesday, February 17 -   It will NOT be Ocean Treasures with a biscuit.  It will be Smuckers or Fiesta Bean Burrito and salad bar

Science Fair Sign-ups start now!

 The Hope Elementary Science Fair will take place on Friday, March 5, 2010.  Judging will take place on March 5th after school and students are encouraged to attend to present their project to the judges.  Certificates and Awards will be presented at Science Night on Tuesday, March 9th and at a Friday Blacktop Assembly.

IMPORTANT DATE CHANGE

Please be advised the Board of Trustees took action at the 8/26/09 Board Meeting to revise the 2009-10 School Calendar.  The President's Holidays in February have been changed to a 4 day weekend - Friday, Feb. 12 and Monday Feb. 15.
